Here are the building blocks of all four macromolecules:
- Carbohydrates- Monosaccharides (sugars and starches)
- Proteins- Amino acids
- Nucleic acids- Nucleotides
- Lipids- Fatty acids
Part C
Monosaccharide have to functions within the cells. They produce energy and store it. The monosaccharide will provide energy by breaking down glucose. So, the breakdown of that can create energy for the cell to use.
Amino acids are considered to be building blocks for proteins found in living cells. Also, they are used for growth (gene expressions).
Nucleotides are known to make up nucleic acids that defines the hereditary traits. It can also be seen being used in (ATP) adenosine triphosphate.
Fatty acids are used in the cell to provide energy to organs and muscles. They act as energy storage for later when the cell/ body needs it.
