QUESTION 11 Hajrah Berhad is a well-known company in Malaysia that sells all types of imported textiles and clothes. The company is situated in Johor Bahru. Its accounting year end is 30 June. Hajrah Berhad has 5,000,000 ordinary shares at RM0.35 each in issue, and also had in issue in 2021 of RM3,000,000 of 10% convertible loan stock, convertible in one years' time at the rate of 3 shares per RM5 a unit. Ending of the year 30 June 2021, Hajrah Berhad earns a profit after tax of RM2,850,000 and the dividends on 300,000 convertible, cumulative preference shares is amount to RM100,000. The preference dividends are not treated as expense in the accounts of Big Candy Berhad. The preference shares are disclosed as equity in the Statement of Financial Position. The income tax rate for the year is 24%. The average market price for the ordinary shares during the year was RM3.60. Required: Calculate the following for Hajrah Berhad: a) Basic EPS b) Diluted EPS.
