QUESTION 2 (20 MARKS) The details of the remuneration method of Alpha Angle Limited are as follows: Normal working week The business works 5 days each week with normal working hours. There are 3 late shifts of 3 hours each Rate of payment Day work: RM150 per hour Late shift: RM225 per hour Average output per operator in a| 120 articles week (including the 3 late shift) In order to increase output and eliminate overtime, the management of the company has decided to switch on to a system of payment by results. The following information is obtained: Time rate RM150 per hour Basic time allowed for 15 articles 5 hours Piece-work rate Add 20% to basic piece-rate Premium bonus Add 50% to time Assume that 135 articles are produced in a 40-hour week under straight piece work, Rowan Premium System and Halsey Premium System. Workers earn half time saved under Halsey Premium System. REQUIRED: Compute the total earnings under each of the following methods: a. Existing time rate b. Straight piece-work c. Rowan system d. Halsey premium system
