Question 2: A chemical is manufactured in two processes. Data for the previous month are as follows: For Process 1: 4,000 litres of raw materials at the value of 3.37 per litre were inputted into process 1. To convert the raw materials, direct labour costing 8,000 and production overheads of 150% of direct labour cost are incurred. During the process a 7% normal wastage is expected. The output of the month was 3,500 litres. For Process 2: An additional 2,500 litres were added with a value of 1.384 per litre. To these, 20,000 of labour and 120% of direct labour cost were needed. The output transferred to finished goods were 5,700 litres with an expected loss of 6%. Required: Prepare the process account for process 1 and process 2. (30 marks)
