QUESTION 2 Turbine (HP) Re-heat Turbine (LP) Boiler Condenser OFH Diagram 1D A co-generating regenerative Rankine cycle is shown in Diagram 10. Power is generated in two turbine stages where the steam at 400*C is expanded from 6000kPa to 1400kPa, then re-heated to 400C, before it is expanded further to 20kPa. A closed feed heater operating at 800kPa is added to the system. The condensate leaves the condenser at 55C. 40% of the heat removed in the condenser is used for heating. Both turbine stages work with and isentropic efficiency of 0.94. All calculations must be done per one kilogram of steam flowing through the cycle. 1. Calculate the thermal efficiency, include the pump work (24) 2. Calculate the utilization factor for this cycle, include the pump work (31 3. Calculate the influence of the feed/process heater on the thermal efficiency of the cycle, include the pump (71 work
