Duron et al (2006) provide a five-step model that teachers can use to apply critical thinking with the underlying notion that the more active we are in acquiring knowledge (such as reading, listening, thinking, participating and writing), the easier it is to gain such knowledge than if we merely sit passively and try to absorb information by only listening.
