The Dutch company Gettit has a leading position in the market for consulting related to the organization of value chains. Although it also advises private companies, its clients are mainly national and local governments in Europe, Latin America, plus the Middle East. They manage the organization of procurement and are specialists in, among other things, the creation of tenders. Because these are often more significant assignments under European directives, consultants often carry out these projects stationed locally at the client's premises. This means that consultants are often away from home for several months, which they do about 2-3 times a year.

The current pandemic has opened up the possibility that much of the work can be done online but of course, not everything. There has been a great deal of investment in digital support and processes in recent years. In addition, other companies have also become active in this market, and a potent form of nationalism has emerged, which has a lot to do with the many support programs that countries have established. This has radically changed the playing field. The market for international services is becoming increasingly important, but governments are also increasingly actively involved in regulating these markets, which can sometimes lead to increased protection.
