The equilibrium moisture content is negligible. Under the condition of drying the critical moisture content is 9 percent, dry basis. Calculate 1) what is the drying rate during constant rate period? 2) How long would it take to dry this material from an initial moisture content of 20 percent (dry basis) to a linal moisture content of 10 pereent? The heat transfer coefficient is given by hGj=0.0204Ci10, where G is the mass velocity of the air. Heat of vaporization of water at given condition is 2397kJkg.
