\\ Question 3 of 4 Trent owns a catering business that operates 12 hours a day making dessert pastries for customers living in the local area. On the premises is a special large~scale blender which mixes all the ingredients to bake the pastries to perfection. In the week before the Easter holidays, the blender breaks down. Trent contracts Ezy Electric, which repairs electrical machines, and asks how much it would cost to repair the blender. He also informs Ezy Electric that this is the only blender he has, and that he will not be full his usual orders during the Easter holidays, if it were not delivered back within the next 4 days. The repairer assures Trent that this would not be an issue. The repairer quotes a price of$ 2 500, which Trent agrees to. The repairer picks up the blenderthat same day. Unfortunately, as the repairer was short on staff in the lead up to the Easter holidays, it was unable to start on the repairs until three days after it had picked up the blender. The repairer rings Trent and informs him that the work will only be completed in a week's time and suggests that he might like to hire a blender from another company for a cost of S 1 000 per day in the meanwhile so that he can continue running his business Trent decides not to hire another blender and Trent loses $ 40 000 in prot during the Easter period. In addition to his usual orders, Trent has lost out on a very protable contract to cater for a function of 500 celebrity guests at the Royal Easter Show, which would have earned him an additional S 10 000 in prot. Trent did not advise the repairer of this contract as he wanted to keep information about who his client was condential. Advise Trent of any rights he has against the repairer under contract law and in particular, whether he is able to successfully claim for his losses in damages
