Question 4 (6marks) This question allows you to demonstrate your understanding of the IPv6. In order to obtain the full mark you must provide details. This question is based on module 12 (12.2 and 12.5) a) Re-write the IPv6 address in a way to reduce the size (compressed). (1 mark) FE80:0000:ABCO:00A0:0000:7000:0000:0000 b) Re-write the IPv6 address in a way to decompress it. (1 mark) fe80:B20:0:4567::89FD:5 c) From the MAC address A0:10:81:5B:E5:8E determine the Interface ID of the IPv6 address using the EUI-64 process (4 marks) Note: most of the marks will be allocated for the steps and details of calculation; if you just provide the final result without the steps and details you will only be awarded part of the grade. Question 5 (19 marks) Wireless Printer Wireless Desktop Desktop VoIP Laptop Wireless Server Tester LAN Network Printer Tablet Development LAN WAN Server R1 R2 Laptop Research LAN Accounting LAN Network Printer Wireless Printer Desktop Wireless Server VoIP Figure A This question covers VLSM covered in module 11 (11.8). Figure A shows the design of a network that is going to be implemented. The details of the topology of the network are as follows: Development-LAN: has 20 Desktops, 20 Laptops, 10 Tablets.6 Wireless printers, and 7 Servers connected to 5 Access points*. Research-LAN: has 15 Laptops, 3 Wireless printers and 2 Servers connected to 2 Access points* Tester-LAN: has 5 Desktops, 5 VolP and 1 Network printer connected to 1 switch*. Accounting-LAN: 11 Desktops, 11 VolP phones, 1 Server, and 3 Network printers connected to 2 switches*. WAN: Router R1 is directly connected to Router R2 the switches and access points should be accessed remotely. . Subnet the address block 180.50.20.0/24 as appropriate to provide an efficient use of the addresses but at the same time providing sufficient addresses for all groups and links. Before you start determining the number of hosts for each network, please read the Important Notes" section here after. Important Notes: An IP address should be assigned to each switch in order to be able to configure/access it remotely. An IP address should be assigned to each access point in order to be able to configure/access it remotely. An IP address should be assigned to each router interface Your choices should make the most economical use of the address range. You are not expected to send a packet tracer file or to simulate the network in any way You can change the order to the Name of the LAN/WAN in table 1 Note: You need to provide the steps you followed to obtain the results in parts a, b and c. Marks will be deducted if details are not provided or insufficient. Questions a) Determine the number of hosts for each of the three networks. (4.5 marks) b) Based on the number of hosts, determine the prefix for each network. (4.5 marks) c) Subnet the address block 180.50.20.0/24 as appropriate to provide an efficient use of the addresses but at the same time providing sufficient addresses for all groups and links. (10 marks) Network (subnet) Broadcast Name of LAN/WAN address Address range Subnet mask address Development-LAN: Table 1 to be completed
