interested in applying adversarial search$-$based agents to the interrogation of suspected

saboteurs in the software development branch of ministry. The interrogators are allowed to ask

questions in one of three styles $($neutral$,$ friendly, aggressive$)$ and the suspect has the option of

either remaining silent, confessing, or denying their guilt after the question. Each response to

a given style has a pre$-$allocated number of years of hard labour associated with it$.$ In order to

motivate the interrogators any years not assigned to the suspect are served by the interrogator

$($someone has to build this great nation's infrastructure$).$

a$)$ Provide a high$-$level formal definition of the interrogation problem suitable for

use by an adversarial search agent.

b$)$ The participants are making use of a minimax$-$search based approach for selecting

their actions. Provide a definition of the minimax function using elements of your

definition from the previous sub$-$question.

c$)$ Consider the following table which shows the number of years allocated based on

the suspects responses to the various interrogation styles.

The number of years in the sentencing guide have been selected based on their

psychological impact on counter revolutionary forces.

Provide a game tree which illustrates the optimal strategy to be followed.
