Question 4 Mass Transfer & Unit Operations - Absorption
Please provide schematic drawing and do Given, Find, Assumptions and Analysis. Figures are attached.
A rich gas (Figure 1) is to be absorbed nC_10 in an absorber operating at three different conditions:
six equilibrium stages and 75 psia operating pressure,
three equilibrium stages and 150 psia,
six equilibrium stages and 150 psia.
Based on the Kremser method, when the number of theoretical stages is known, the percent of species absorbed can be calculated using the following equation. Percent of species absorbed=AN+1-AAN+1-1100%
Where A is the absorption factor and N is the number of theoretical stages.
1) Calculate the percent absorption of each component for each of the aforementioned conditions using both the Kremser method based on the following K-values (Figure 1) and Aspen. (Make screenshots of simulation results whenever it is possible)
2) Based on the results calculated from both options and the determination of overall stage efficiency (Figure 2), what can you conclude regarding operational conditions for absorption?
