QUESTION 5 (CO3, PO1, C6, C5) A storage tank with capacity of 500 L is filled with 200 L of hydrochloric acid (HCI) solution with the concentration of 2 mol/L. Pure water at 2 L/min is pumped in and consequently HCI solution is pumped out at 2 L/min. The tank may be considered perfectly mixed. a) Develop differential total mass balance on tank interms of (dv/dt) and component balance of HCI (dCaldt). Provide initial conditions for both expressions. Derive the expressions for V(t) and Ca(t), based on the given conditions. (17 marks)
