Question 5 Part I The Human Resource (HR) officer of a distribution centre found out that the staff who work in night shift attached to the sorting operation indicate low efficiency due to fatigue in general. The HR officer is worried that low level of efficiency could be detrimental to the overall performance of the distribution centre. As far as the workplace is concerned, the HR officer believes that efficiency scores are determined mainly by the amount of salary, task clarity, and sleep. Hence the HR officer selects 20 casual employees by random and records their salary, task clarity level, and amount of sleep. Task clarity is coded from 1 (lowest clarity) to 5 (highest clarity). Efficiency is coded from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). The collected data are shown in the following table along with a correlation and regression output.
