To help settle the argument, compute the following for a hypothetical 1000 kg of snow: a) The energy it would take to melt it all (assuming it's ice already at 0 degrees C) b) The energy it would take to lift it all onto the bed of a truck, 2 meters up. c) The energy it would take to transport it horizontally a distance of 1 km, assuming that you're fighting against rolling friction with a coefficient of 0.01.
