He had 85 shares that he purchased for $30 each in 2017, 45 shares that he purchased in 2018 when the price dropped to $22, 110 shares that he purchased in 2019 when the price was $36. On September 1 of 2020, Hughie sold 200 of his shares for $50 per share and paid $250 brokerage fees on the sale. During the current year, he also sold a rare book at auction for $2,500. Hughie was disappointed as the book had originally cost $3,400. Hughie had better luck with the sculpture he sold for $5,000 where he had only paid $850 originally.
