QUESTION: Analyze the discussions below:

  1. The following steps are involved in a statistical hypothesis test:
  • The steps involved in a statistical hypothesis test are as follows:
  • State the null and alternative hypothesis
  • Determine the size
  • Compute probability value
  • Decision making step (either accept or reject)
  • Draw a conclusion

To set up the null and alternative hypotheses you need to define both a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis. Generally, people hypothesis about the population parameter as they are unknown quantities.

At work due to COVID19, my work wants its employees to start preparing for working from home by providing them with the tools. In the beginning employees from a select region will be attempting to work from home. If the success rate is over 35%they willthen have rest of the employees working from home.

2.In hypothesis testing there are both null and alternative hypothesis that test for both nonsignificant and significant differences. In null hypothesis testing it assumes and tests for no significant differences between the groups. On the other hand, alternative hypothesis testing is the opposite, assuming there are significant differences between the groups.

When setting up a test, a business example could be delivery times. Specifically, how long it takes for pizza as an example to be delivered to a customer's home. If the average time for delivery is 45 minutes the next step is to determine what a significant difference would be. The Ho being 45minutes or roughly (close enough) to that time which would mean you accept the null hypothesis. In an event where there would be a significant difference, using 15minutes as an example. If the delivery took 60 minutes plus, then we would reject the Ho for the alternative hypothesis.
