Background: On 30 July 2022, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced draft words for a constitutional amendment on an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. He also proposed a draft question to be put to the Australian people at a referendum.

 

Provide your opinion on the proposed Constitutional amendment, drawing on relevant legal concepts and principles from Constitutional law. Your audience is well-educated and politically engaged newspaper readers who are interested in current events and political issues but have little understanding of the Australian Constitution.  It is your job to explain the relevant Constitutional law to your audience.  

 

So my question is what research should I conduct and also what are the arguments and counter arguments for the question of the yes or no case on the Voice to Parliament referendum and also the arguments and counter arguments for the constitutional amendment on an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
