Matthew asked Drake if he could buy a gun from him. Drake agreed to sell a gun to Matthew at an agreed-upon price. Later, Drake and his friend John decided they would only pretend to sell Matthew the gun. Their intent was to "rip off" Matthew. They figured they would point the gun at Matthew and scare him into letting them keep the money and the gun. The next day, Matthew, Drake, and John met to complete the transaction.
