Question No . 1 The ASTM distillation data of a crude oil fraction having specific gravity of 0 . 7 5 7 ( 6 0

Question No.1
The ASTM distillation data of a crude oil fraction having specific gravity of 0.757(60F60F) is shown below.
\table[[Vol% distilled,IBP,5,10,30,50,70,90,95],[T(C),32,39,43,55,72,114,173,186]]
a) Calculate the volume average boiling point (VABP). Also calculate the weight average boiling point (WABP) and mean average boiling point (MeABP) of the fraction using the following figure.
(2+2+2)
Relationship between molal, volumetric, and other average boiling points as a function of ASTM slope. (Ind. Eng. Chem.)
All temperatures in F.
b) Calculate the characterization factor based on MeABP of the fraction.

c) The ASTM distillation data given above is converted to TBP distillation data as shown below. However, some points are missing. Fill in the blank spaces using the Riazi and Daubert correlation.
(3)
\table[[Vol% distilled,IBP,10,30,50,70,90,95],[T(C),9.94,-,46.58,-,117.6,-,193.6]]
d) Plot the TBP curve and extend the TPB curve to the full range by viewing the trend (by free hand).
e) Divide the TBP curve into 40 pseudocomponents and calculate the IBP, EP, NBP, and vol % of first 5 pseudocomponents. Use your graph for the vol % and show your method by drawing broken lines on the graph.
f) What would be the vol % of the fraction that starts boiling at 50C and ends boiling at 170C.
