8. Describe the structure and function of the electoral system in Fiji.

• Why was it created, and by whom?

9. Compare the electoral system to a popular vote approach for elections.

• How does the electoral system operate/function?
• What are the consequences of using an electoral system versus a popular vote? Use Guy Powles' Minimum Standardsas an example.

10. Assess the value of an individual citizen's vote under the electoral system.

• Why does Fiji still use the electoral for elections today?
