Guidance - This is an essay question, the aim of which is to encourage an analysis of the current definition of land in the Law of Property Act 1925. You are encouraged to consider, in light of your study of Unit 1, how this definition may be expanded, amended or changed to include some of the concepts introduced to you in that unit. You may consider:

• the notions of possession, property and ownership and how/if they may be incorporated
• the inclusion of indigenous, faith based and political approaches to land
• how land could be defined in the context of human rights and/or
• whether the language used in the Law of Property Act 1925 is relevant today.

Your advice should be presented in the form of a memorandum, and you should use subheadings as appropriate.
