Rakib is an eighteen-year-old learner driver who is driving a motor car along the busy main road, frequented by pedestrians. Rakib's father, Sarfaraz, supervises the driving lessons. Nevertheless, Rakib ignores Sarfaraz's advice to slow down.

Then a pedestrian darted into the road, Rakib had to swerve to avoid him. Because of Rakib's swift turn, another car drove by Saiful and carrying Abdullah as a passenger changed its direction, climbed onto the pavement, and crashed and damaged the Haldi Restaurant's frontage.

After the accident, Rakib saw that several people have come to the aid of Saiful and Abdullah. He saw that his father, Sarfaraz has been injured because of his swift turn. So, he did not stop and checked for Saiful and Abdullah. Instead, he drove off to the hospital without speaking to anyone. These events took only a few seconds. But he was recognised, and when the police called on him, he admitted the truth of the above facts. It should be noted that section 52 of the Road Transport Act 2018 provides that if in any case, where a motor vehicle is involved in an accident in which a person is injured or property is damaged, then the driver of the motor vehicle must: a) Stop the motor vehicle; and b) Immediately render such assistance as is necessary.

Does using the literal rule of statutory interpretation for section 52 of the Road Transport Act provide a satisfactory outcome in this case? If yes, then why? If no, then which rule could also be applied and why?
