During this recent hospital admission, the respiratory consultant discussed the possibility of Avis requiring a double-lung transplant in the future, if her lung function continued to decrease. Avis was not agreeable to having that surgery, and did not want further information. Avis additional past history include an appendectomy at age 6, and a car accident at age 18 (in which she was the driver) which included a fractured sternum, R) sided haemopneumothorax, and R) humerus fracture including cubitus instability and nerve damage causing tingling/numbness in her R) hand (which has since completely resolved). Her recent lung function tests show: FEV1 -- 48% FVC -- 56% FEV1 / FVC --0.56 PaO2 mmHg 81% PaCO2 mmHg 39% Other pathology results are as follows: Hb (g/dL) 10.3 Platelets (x109/L) 253 WBC (x109/L) 8.3 INR 1.12 ALT (U/L) 3.7 Albumin (g/L) 38 ALP (U/L) 152 Creatinine (mg/dL) 1.18 Urea (mg/dL) 21.4 Medications are as follows: Trikafta two tablets mane, one tablet nocte PO Dornase alfa 2.5 mg nebulised BD Hypertonic saline 6% 5 mL nebulised BD Tobramycin 120 mg nebulised BD Salbutamol 200 mcg inhaled prn Pancreas (Creon 24000) 3 tablets with meals and 1 tablet with snacks PO Glucolyte 2 sachets BD PO VitABCDECK 2 tablets mane PO Esomeprazole 20 mg mane PO Avis lives in a self-contained flat at the back of her mother and step-fathers house. She works from home as a website developer. She does not have a partner at present but has a strong friendship group. She considers herself spiritual rather than religious and believes in a combination of Western and Eastern therapies. She regular sees a healer who is trained in both Reiki and Kinesiology.
