Good morning all.

I am writing to inform you that an exciting opportunity has been discussed among the company executive and it is my honour to pass it along to everyone in our family here in the Policy Department. As you are aware, our most important and valued resource at Goliath Corp is our workforce and as well, our Nine Principles of Leadership, which we outline every year in the annual report, include An Educated and Supported Workforce Generates Benefits for All. Its for this reason that we have made the decission to implement a Career Growth Fund, via which a rotating board of selected executives will choose nine (9) selected employees to be awarded a free grant for travel to work-related educational destinations, specifically conferences and symposiums and conventions etc. The grant is not available to part-time workers, contractors are not eligible, nor are student workers, nor full-time employees with under than nine months at Goliath. However at this same meeting I learned that part-time workers will probably be able to benefit from employee career counselling starting in May, which is a development I regard as positive. Men, women, and transgender employees are allowed to apply to the fund. Applications that do not include all requirements (e.g. date, location) will not be considered, which would represent an unfortunate waste of this offering. One of the most neccesary requirements which fund applicants are required to do is accompany their application with a statement, which explains why their travel will positively affect their career development, which should be not very long and attached to the email. Travel with a monetary value up to $2400 will be reimbursed by the fund. Which may not sound like a whole lot, but in my view it is actually generous given that the company has no formal obligation in this arena.

Tip: dont just select conferences in Hawaii, you can learn an lot from visiting conferences in less advanced countries ie. Peru/Africa/Italy (nota bene also: your grant money will go further in cheaper countries). Time is of the essence, the final last day to submit applications is Friday EOB. As per the official guidelines, you must apply with the full name of the conference, include the venues location (full name and postal address of the convention site), also citing the date of the convention-starting and ending.
