Just as she was about to pick it up, another customer grabbed it. Outraged, Olivia picked up a hammer that had been lying on the counter and told the other customer to hand over the tape measure. The other customer quickly did so, and Olivia put the hammer back on the counter. At home the next day, Olivia answered the door to find herself confronted by a police officer who had a warrant for her arrest. Based on the incident in the store, Olivia had been charged with the crime of carrying a dangerous weapon.
