One day a recently hired developer from the USA joins the project on which the team has been already working for one month. He comes to a stand$-$up meeting, introduces himself and shakes hand with everyone in his new team. When he offers a greeting handshake to his female colleague, she doesn$$t greet him back, and says $$I$$m sorry$.$ Awkward silence follows... A new team member is frustrated $...$ Then the team leader invites everyone to start the stand up meeting. After the meeting the team gets to work. A new team member doesn't feel welcomed after the incident and expects to have tension in communication with some of his team members. The situation with handshake is not addressed by any of the team members.
