Read the following and explain how this awareness relates to adaptive leadership. "For this assignment I chose to go to a coffeeshop like the textbook said to do to people watch. I wrote down assessments for a group of people I saw and also about a man by himself. The group of people I saw looked very businesslike in suits, so I immediately assessed they were there for a meeting, I looked at their faces and they seemed to be in a good mood and laid back I say this because they were smiling and were not in a rush for their coffee. I also thought to myself they must make good money by the way they dressed and how relaxed they were, so I questioned what they did for a living. The man that I saw seemed to be in a rush with a stern look on his face, so I assessed he was late for something and probably doesn't keep track of time well. He was also rude to the workers and asked how long it was going to take, so I also assess when he is late to places, he likes to put the blame on something or someone else rather than putting the blame on himself. The rest of the people in the coffee shop were on their laptops I am assuming doing homework or work-related work. Another place I went to people watch was the mall, since I had to go shopping there anyways. I seen a group of teenage girls walk by and assessed their conversation had to do with a boy because they were giggling and one of the girls was blushing. They also did not have any shopping bags, so I assume they probably just needed somewhere to hangout and did not actually need to shop. Seeing the teenage girls reminded me of when my friends and I went to the mall just to walk around and talk. The rest of the people I observed in the mall that walked by were on their phones which made me think they are either anti-social or did not want to make eye contact with anyone. I discovered that there can be a lot to assess about a person such as their clothes, their facial expressions and how they look and act. I wasn't really sure what to look for at first but then I got more comfortable by writing stuff down on how they are acting and if they look happy or stressed. I think my awareness of my assessments relates to adaptive leadership because I will be aware of my surroundings and aware of the people around me. It is important in adaptive leadership to recognize when there's a problem and how to address it. If I can assess if someone is stressed or unhappy, I can try and solve the problem and make it better."
