Read the following case study and respond to the questions
'Pam's Cakes' supplies a number of local shops and cafes. One such cafe is 'Rick's Cafe'.
Recently, as a treat, Clive took his mother and girlfriend to 'Rick's Cafe'
Clive purchased a pot of tea and also some cakes for himself, his mother and his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, after his mother had eaten a few pieces of her plum cake (made by 'Rick's Caf'), she broke one of her teeth on a plum stone in the cake. Her dentist cannot repair the tooth which means she needs expensive dental surgery to replace it. She had previously been told by her dentist that her teeth were brittle.
Clive's girlfriend ate her cake (made by 'Pam's Cakes'). Unfortunately, as a consequence of eating the cake, she suffered severe bouts of food poisoning and was unfit to work for 2 weeks. Clive's girlfriend believes that the cream was contaminated.
Explain whether 'Pam's Cakes or 'Rick's Cafe' (or both) are liable in TORT to Clive's mother and to Clive's girlfriend
