Every teacher hopes to make sure every student achieves success, but more importantly, we work to make sure each student is caring, self-disciplined, and independent. According to "Dimensions of person-centered classroom management", by H.J. Freiberg, and S.M. Lamb, gives examples of how educators can assist students with becoming the caring, self-disciplined, independent thinkers they should be without the fixed rewards or feared punishments. In this article, the author explains how to have an effective "person-centered" classroom that balances the needs of the teacher and the students.

Several prosocial management strategies are included in the strategy, including social-emotional learning, school connectedness, a positive school and classroom climate, and student discipline. In addition to these, these are all meant to foster independent learners who are caring, self-disciplined, and self-motivated.

The research presented in this article indicates that through the use of these strategies, students have achieved positive cognitive and affective outcomes in person-centered environments, including creativity and critical thinking, mathematical and verbal achievement, student participation, student satisfaction, and self-esteem, reduced dropouts, increased motivation to learn, less disruptive behavior, and fewer absences (Freiberg, H.J., & Lamb, S.M., 2009).
