Read the passage below and respond how you would respond. Questions will be below to make sure you respond correctly.
The counselor is leading the third group session with the members. The group just completed an opening round, and the counselor is starting the session by asking a member how she feels this week about her desire to change her life.
Counselor- "Alright welcome back everyone and thank you so much for coming. I thought our last session was really good. Emma, I wanted to point out that I thought you made some really good progress in talking about how you're trying to be different. Do you want to expand on that a little bit?
Emma- "Yeah um, I mean what I said the last session, I think it was good for me, but I don't know when I leave the session I just can't control it. Everything pisses me off. It's not like an easy switch. It just comes back no matter what I do.
Counselor- "I understand. Can anyone else relate to the way Emma's feeling?
Male- "I can't relate at all. It's just ridiculous. She's always going on to put something like, I don't understand. don't know where you're coming from.
Emma- " Okay. We don't have the same brain. Like obviously you have a different brain function than me because I know you have anger issues too.
Male-" Not like you, at least I can control them. I don't fly off the handle. Like you, wouldn't last a second in my life.
Emma-" It's because of people like you. You try to get me to freak out like this like it's out of my control. So what?
Male-" I barely said anything, and look at you, you're just freaking out again, like come on.
Emma-" See this is exactly what I'm talking about.
