Responses should be a minimum of 250 words and contain at least 2 short (1-2 sentence) quotes to back up your argument. The quotes must be properly cited. Long quotes, quotes 3+ lines or sentences, are not allowed.

  • -Do the background music and beat match the message (i.e. is the song upbeat when the lyrics are serious? do the instruments suggest a certain impression the band wants to give?
  • -Does the music video help the audience better understand the message? Does it detract from it?
  • -Does the live version of the song leave a different impression than the music video or the song and lyrics (i.e. is the vibe different in the live version than the recorded versions?
