The quality control department at Georgian Chemical feels that there is no problem with sulphate content, which has been averaging approximately 50 ppm. The production department estimates that a substantial investment would be required to lower the amount of this contaminant. These two departments, after consulting with the marketing department and customers, suggest that a control chart be set up to monitor sulphate content. Five samples were tested each day for the month of September, with the results included in the file: Georgian Chemical Sulphate Data.xlsx. The September data is to be used to establish control limits for this process (note: from historical data, Georgian Chemical knows that the process standard deviation is 12.87 ppm). With the control limits in place, Georgian continues to monitor the proces s for the first 10 days of October, with results also included in the file: Georgian Chemical Sulphate Data.xlsx. Commentary to support your conclusion. 4. Please note this additional guidance: Your report should be prepared as a standalone document, meaning your analysis and conclusions should be complete and clear without needing to refer to the Excel file. The Excel file must also to be submitted, but will only be checked to ensure that you have used the correct approach in your analysis.
