We start by selling one product at first planters that cost $8 to be sold for $16 each. We order 20 planters on July 1st from Planters Wholesale Corporation and receive them with a bill on July 3rd. The bill is due for payment on August 1st.

Following are the necessary adjusting entries for the month of July, all to be prepared as of July 31st:

- Depreciate the gardening equipment for the month. Continue to use straight-line depreciation with no salvage and use a ten-year useful life for all the items.
- Accrue the interest on the note from Charlottesville Bank dated 6/6.
- Accrue interest earned on the certificate of deposit with the bank dated 6/6.
- Recognize revenue earned from June payments in advance (see item d in June).
- Recognize insurance that has expired.
- Counted all merchandise on hand and determined there is one seed packet missing, so it is written off. Also, wrote off the cracked pot that Kirby Colorado returned (we determined we had not properly packaged it for shipping).
