reply Some CEOs started their company individually from scratch and some who had gained their title from family business or succession. CEOs who I believe earned their way or deserve the amount of compensation are self-made. One of the first example is Howard Putman, the former CEO of Southwest Airlines. He started as a baggage handler at the age of 17 and became CEO of Southwest Airlines from 1978 to 1981. He had earned his way by gaining experience throughout the different levels/positions he had worked. There will always be a conflict about CEO compensation and how they influence an organization. My conflict amongst all is CEOs who earn their titles without any knowledge, or experience, but rather as a family delegation, and this is where the strength and opportunity as a CEO comes in. As the main owner and CEO, they have the power to delegate whomever they want as a replacement, whether they are qualified or not. In summary, to minimize the controversy regarding CEO compensation, there should be at least criteria and requirements that must be met before taking the role
