Walmart and Dell are very different in their focus on the types of products they sell and that is the big difference between these two companies. The focus of Dell's business is on selling electronic devices to consumers. Contrary to Walmart, which is an open market where you can buy anything you want, with the exception of vehicle parts. At Walmart, you can buy food, clothes, electronics, and even parts for your car. As part of Walmart Inc., various banners of the company operate, such as a discount store, a Walmart supercenter, a Walmart neighborhood market, and a Sam's Club warehouse membership club. It serves millions of Walmart customers worldwide. The success of Walmart's supply chain has been attributed to multiple factors, some of which are as follows. As a result of my research, I am of the opinion that a successful supply chain strategy is based on implementing a supply management system that defines inventory types clearly, implements an intelligent distribution system, and streamlines the logistics process. It has been Walmart's goal to master distribution practices and handle inventory electronically in order to keep track of what, how many, and when products are needed at any given time.In addition to the decline of the PC industry and the competition, the Dell Company had been going through a process of reinvention in response to the arrival of new technology and competitors. Even though Dell Company is facing a series of challenges, it still maintains a large market share in spite of these challenges. In terms of the direct sales model, which means that Dell's supply chain management accepts orders directly from the customer without the involvement of any resellers, one of the most remarkable features of Dell's supply chain management is its direct sales model. As a result, the company is able to gain more and more resellers, and they must give the resellers an appropriate percentage of the sales or sales that they make. Also, the brand is able to use this data to create new products and services to meet the preferences and needs of its customers, and, thanks to the collected information, Dell can implement new products and services to satisfy the needs of its customers directly. As a result of my research, I was able to find that during the pandemic, Dell Technologies Inc. generated sales for its desktops and notebooks exceeding market expectations due to the shift toward remote work and learning driven by the pandemic.

In terms of revenue, the company predicts a 3 to 4% increase sequentially, implying an increase between $24.18 billion and $24 billion versus analysts' average estimate of $23.09 billion, which suggests a range between $24.18 billion and $24 billion. In spite of the challenging economic environment between 2021 and 2022, Dell Inc. managed to make good sales during that period, thanks to the fact that most people worldwide were working remotely during that time. In contrast with Walmart, which adapted to the situation, Janey Whiteside, Chief customer officer at Walmart, reported that by the beginning of 2022, sales of disinfectants, board games, and homeschooling products started to increase. Furthermore, they also mentioned that the recovery process was not expected to be a fast one.According to other data, Walmart's service offerings, such as pickup and delivery, have increased 300% in the past five years. I think we can see in the graphs below that both companies were able to keep running during the pandemic by adapting to the situation. As you could imagine, both of these companies shut down their operations, but they slowly began to come up with new ideas to keep pleasing their customers to keep them coming back for more.
