John should consider the analysis of stakeholders, and therefore not take the bribe. Although there is pressure coming from his boss, it is better to take longer than to take the bribe. If John was to take the bribe then in would be unethical because he went against his company's policy, also the bribes would raise costs with the possibility of bad publicity.

The social issues that I feel he should take into consideration are transparency and accounting. John should not take the bait of bribing the China Elders because he will surely have problems reporting the financials of his operations. Issue in transparency because he should be clear and honest in the way that he does business.
