Reply to Dena's discussion question expanding on what she said and if able to, ask a question. Articulated discussion repsonse.

below is denas repsose to the questio: ". Discuss the evolution of psychological disorders. Can these disorders become extinct? Is there adaptive significance in behaviors that appear "abnormal" in our modern world?"

Dena - I believe that disorders can become extinct, although it is too soon to see if such cognitive dysfunctions as anxiety and depression might dissolve over time. Through time, such disorders have served a purpose, and as such our minds have learned to adapt to them over time for the sake of survival. We have lived in a modern world for a very short time, and as such our brains have not had the time needed to physically adjust to this new environment where our survival is not of paramount importance (as such, anxiety and stress are still similar in the modern age as they were hundreds of years ago).
