What does it take to get you to change your mind? A good conversation can get me to change my mind depending on what it is. I like to feel listened to. I guess it's the only child it me. I always feel like I'm right.... I try and listen to others facts or options about an argument or disagreement.

Can you see how this could work for you or at the place where you work? Yes, It has my manager is a great listener. About personal and or work. Honesty I'm trying to pick up tips from her. I don't believe in everything she does and or belives in. I still think she is a good person. She listens well and gives out her option when asked.

Have you ever had an argument when you thought the other person was not listening to you? YES, I think everyone in a relationship has. On Friday I had one with my boss. He never listens. He does this thing where if he doesn't agree with you he won't have a conversation. He just looks at you and says nothing....  

How did you handle it? In my relationship I communicate on how I feel. I am trying to get better at walking away if I can't handle the conversation and or trying to talk it out. I get really worked up fast. With my boss on Friday. I had to leave work due to him just not listening and me getting worked up.... I'm trying to learn. But its not easy.

What steps can you do to be a better listener? Not going to lie. I think with having ADHD is hard to be a listener I get really side tracked and forget what I'm saying. Maybe slowing down and try to stay in the conversation I'm having with someone. I can be more compassionate with the person I'm listening to. Working with the pubic really kills your compassion.

What kind of open-ended questions can you use at your job? Some questions I can ask are What is the best solution? Why do you feel this why? Why don't you understand where I'm coming from? What can I do for you to help me?

Think about the situations we see in our politics. Do you think active listening could be used to overcome it? Yes, I think we do need more true active listeners in our politics. Maybe more things would get done. Maybe we wouldn't be sitting at an 8% interest rate. Its all a game on who can win for them they don't care to hear what we need or want. They care about themselves. They don't listen they only care when it affects them. So, therefore yes, I think active listener could be used to overcome the situations we see in our politics. Maybe have some compassion, and trust.
