reply to this comment The CAN-SPAM Act has been effective in guarding against what is defined as SPAM. SPAM being unsolicited messages from commercial entities is curbed through the CAN-SPAM Act. Having the ability to unsubscribe from mass commercial mailings and rules in regard to proper email headers, abilities to harvest information such as emails, and emails not sent through open servers does have effectiveness in today's time (Easttom, 2022). The Act also makes it clear that the opt-out option be easy to accomplish with minimal complication which means that a simple unsubscribe link should be enough to satisfy this rule (White, 2023). Although there are loopholes in the CAN-SPAM Act such as emails that are not seen as SPAM reaching your inbox, I believe it has influenced email provider to implement filters and reporting of SPAM to be much easier for the user allowing them to curb unwanted emails not just SPAM. Finally, according to the FTC (2019) the CAN-SPAM rule on commercial e-mail's was voted to be one that is still effective many years later and favored for not having any changes to the rule since it was agreed to still be beneficial to the consumer
