When you think about the definition of Consumer behavior it is the study of individuals and organizations and how they select and use products and services. It is mainly concerned with psychology, motivations, andbehavior. The student deciding to go on on her personal time and indulge in a few drinks is not showing irrational behavior because, Irrational behaviorarises as a consequence of emotional reactions evoked when faced with difficult decisions. That student could be having a bad day or just needed a break before going to take the stressful test the next day. What would make her behavior irrational would be if she was acting and moving in a manner where she lacked common sense or logic.

A situation that could makes the student behavior rational is the professor knowing how the student is in class. The professor probably knows that her student continually receives high marks for academic performance. That's why she feels she is being rational because she may know the students work ethics.
