The original question was: Do you see Freud's theory in your everyday life?

Freud's theory has permeated American life. Although he was from Austria, spoke German and only came to America once, Americans accepted his theories with gusto!!

Read all about Freud's theory: the id, ego, superego, defense mechanisms, sexual Freudian slips of the tongue, catharsis, etc. Compose a post that describes where you see pieces of this theory in everyday life. It may just be the use of one of his terms. Be specific as to which idea is represented and how. Elaborate as you can. It is important that you understand the theory before you attempt to answer these questions.

Depending on what you choose to look into, you basically hear Freud's theory all the time. Searching up what certain dreams mean, scandals online, reddit, all that good stuff, sometimes, even in your own household. The theory of defense mechanisms seem to be right on point. Most people try to defend, or rationalize something when they're faced with a potential truth. You see it all the time, in media, in real life drama, it's everywhere you go, people often have a hard time believing something negative about someone they view in a positive light, which connects to their own beliefs and morals, depending on the person. They see someone who they think is like them, or someone they favor over others and have a usually clear bias towards them, and associates their own morals with them, which is the base of toxic relationships and favoritism. Sometimes, they're right in their defense, other times, they're wrong. People choose to defend something, or someone when they perceive it to be good.

I see Freud's theory in my everyday life. I go on social media and I see many fitness influencers promoting their craft. I believe this is the theory of ego. The ego is all about feeling important and accomplished about yourself, basically giving you praise for what you have done. But sometimes it can be too much. People go to the gym for many reasons, to look good, to be healthy, or to kill some time out of their day. There are those who go to the gym and are humble about their progress, and there are those who constantly brag and show off their hard work, and in my opinion, it kind of gets tiring. Those who brag about how they look seem to have an inflated ego. They tend to think that everyone is less than them, and that they are on top of the world. But having an ego is not bad, I actually think it is a great thing to have. It provides the mind with an action to replace the id, which are the impulsive decisions. I guess I just prefer to be on the humble side of my ego.
