1.0 Club's Name:

Northern Varsity Accounting Club Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (NOVAC-TISSA)

2.0 Title of the programme:

NOVAC-TISSA Community Volunteers

3.0 Summary of the programme:

On 12th October 2017, all committee members and participants departed from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to Sekolah Kebangsaan Dalam Wang (SKDW), Baling at 0700am. After arrived at the SKDW at 1100am, five (5) of the participants were assigned to prepare the food together with the teachers and the students' parent while other committee members and participants set up the school's hall. The school's hall was used for the opening ceremony and conducting activities with the students. The opening ceremony started at 1200pm and it was successfully officiated by Prof. Dr. Ayoib Che Ahmad, the Dean of Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA-UUM). The programme for the school's students continued together with the committee members and participants through "Bulatan Kasih" activity and "Explorace Game". After finished all the activities in the SKDW, the committee members and participants departed to Kampung Belida, Baling at 0500pm for the "Bakti Siswa" programme. The opening ceremony of "Bakti Siswa" programme was conducted at "Dewan Masyarakat"Kampung Belida at 0930pm. The "Bakti Siswa" programme was officiated by Dato' Haji Mohd Khairul Azhar Bin Abdullah, Coordinator of Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Ketil. The first day of "Bakti Siswa"programme was ended with the distribution of the committee members and participants to the foster families and all of them were ask to go to their respective foster family house.

On the second day, the programme started with the aerobic exercise handled by the committee members. "Gotong-royong" activity started after the breakfast and the participants were assigned into kindergarten and mosque location for the next activity. The participants cleaned and repainted the kindergarten and the mosque. In the evening, the committee members and participants worked together with the villagers to prepare BBQ dinner during the "Cultural Night". At 0900pm, the "Cultural Night" started with the "silat" performance. At the same time, the committee members and participants gathered up to prepare the BBQ dinner for all guest and villages. "Cultural Night" activity ended up at 1200am.

On the last day, the committee members and participants together with the villages started the day with "Ten Thousand Steps" walking activity which covered some area in Kampung Belida. Later, the activities continued with with "Sukaneka" and "Sukan Rakyat" activities. Souvenirs and prizes were given to all winners for each of the activity respectively. At noon, the committee members and participant together with the villagers prepared traditional food name "Bubur Asyura" and "Gulai Kawah"for the lunch. The "Bakti Siswa"programme ended with the committee members and participants handed over the souvenirs to all the foster families and took photos. The committee members and participants went back to campus at 0530pm.

4.0 Objective of Programme:

1) To develop the soft skills such as confidence, compassion and self- reliance among the committee members and participants;

2) to experience the benefit of helping others;

3) to build up a caring community;

4) to improve the quantity and quality of learning through the community; and

5) to enhance the sense of social belongings.
