Research Paper Guidelines

There is one research paper assignment (RPA) for the semester, which will consist of applying economic principles and tools to a real life situation. It is required that this assignment will be typed and completed in APA. All written work must reflect the professional use of Standard American English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. You must use your computer's spell check and "grammar check" functions to help you edit and proof read your work. No hand written work will be accepted for this assignment. Points will be lost for messy assignments.

You are required to find a current economic issue. You are to write a 3 - 5 page paper regarding this issue on the following:

1. Description of the economic issue
   1. Thoroughly describe the issue
   2. Find, document, and write 2 - 4 supporting sources to validate the issue
2. Description of how the issue affects the US economy
   1. Thoroughly explain how this issue is affecting the US economy
3. Description of the strategies used by the government towards the issue
   1. Thoroughly describe at least two strategies used by the government
   2. Explain how these strategies would affect the issue
4. Provide strategies you would use towards the issue (must be different from the government's strategies)
