Researchers were interested in which form of teaching was more effective, hands on learning or strictly lecture. A sample of 10 participants was randomly assigned to one of two groups, strictly lecture or a combination of hands-on and lecture. The study lasted 3 weeks. At the end of the 3 weeks the students took a 20 question multiple choice test to see which group learned more. It was predicted that the condition with a combination of hands-on and lecture, would be more effective.
