Researchers were interested whether chimpanzees show the same preferences for different colours. 50 chimpanzees (25 males and 25 females) were placed in a room with a green, a pink, and a red toy. The frequency of the chimps picking up a toy of each colour was recorded. 9 males picked up a green toy, 11 pink, and 5 red. 9 females picked up a green toy, 3 pink, and 13 red.
