    2. Family childcare home centers:
      1. Every adult who lives or works in the household including residents who are not providing direct care to the children, are not on the premises during the hours of operation, persons 18 years (and older) or turn 18 while living in the home, and adults that reside on the property or in another part of the home.
      2. This does not apply to residents in apartment, duplex, or multiplex buildings.
  2. How does someone obtain a criminal record clearance or background check?
    1. Sign a criminal record statement, LIC508, and agree to being fingerprinted.
    2. Complete a live scan form and a live scan at a state approved facility by a certified live scan technician.
  3. Are there any people with access to child care facilities who don't need a criminal record clearance?
    1. Medical professional because they have already undergone clearance as a condition of obtaining their license.
    2. Volunteer college students for less than 16 hours a week and are under constant supervision by a fully qualified teacher.
  4. What prior criminal violations permanently exclude a person from working at a childcare facility as a staff member or volunteer?
    1. Convictions of violent felony(ies).
    2. Convictions of crimes against children (even if not a felony).
  5. What prior criminal violations may qualify for an exemption and enable someone to be a staff member or volunteer in a childcare facility?
    1. Non-violent misdemeanors
    2. Non-violent violations (i.e. shoplifting, parking ticket)
    3. Some DUIs (qualify for a conditional exemption)
  6. Did you find this video helpful? Why?
    1. I found elements of the video helpful. I was unaware that certain criteria would enable someone with a criminal record to work at a licensed facility. Although most of the exemptions seem logical, I had never thought about the possibility of obtaining an exemption before watching the video
