Respond to comment: Throughout healthcare and the world, new technologies are developed and introduced to the world every day. The ever changing field calls for individuals in healthcare to be ready to adopt new technologies and learn their ways to ensure efficient and safe implementation. In my opinion, healthcare staff, managers, and executives should always support the adoption of the latest and greatest technologies if they are actually the "latest and greatest technologies." If there is more benefit than harm from the new technologies, they should always be open to adopting them. It is an organizations job to acknowledge its current technologies are out$-$of$-$date and need upgrading if there are better options for more efficient patient care. However, an organization must take many different aspects into account such as cost$,$ efficiency, error rates, and many others. After weighing all of these different groupings, if there is more good to come from the move than harm, the company should be open to full implementation. One new technology available for healthcare IT is the use of virtual personal assistants. This program would take the burden off of physicians and provide an online assistant for patient's to register themselves and other items such as symptoms or complaints. Once this information is entered, it is used to assist the physician in a diagnosis $($Anitha$,$ et al$).$ In my opinion, this invention is in the "technology trigger" or peak of inflated expectations stage. It sounds like a very great idea, but it makes going to the doctor or hospital so much less personal. Some offices may implement this, but it is unlikely to succeed and I believe there is much "hype" for very little opportunity of success. Another advancing technology is the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare information systems. One study found that AI had positive impact on automated medical coding, IT training and education, and other areas $($Stanfill$,$ Marc$).$ On the other hand, I believe that this technology will be adopted by many healthcare facilities and organizations in the near future. There is much hype behind AI$,$ but there has also been much success in the early time period of its usage. $2.)$Healthcare staff, managers, and executives know when to support the adoption of the latest and greatest technologies if that specific technology is trending in the right direction. If a specific technology is used by other organizations and is implemented well, then it should influence the primary organization to also adopt it$.$ Another reason why staff and executives know when to support the adoption of new technology is if it will advance an organization$$s strategies or suggest new ones $($Wager et al$.,2022).$ Understanding why and how that particular technology may be an important tool to the organization is crucial $($Wager et al$.,2022).$ If the technology will be beneficial and somehow lead to increased quality of care and increased revenue, then that organization will definitely implement it$.$ Considering the suppliers of the technology, if they are reliable and engaging in iterative learning about the technology, then the technology can be successfully implemented $($Wager et al$.,2022).$ An organization will acknowledge its current technologies are out of date and need upgrading through increased cybersecurity threats. If an organization has outdated technology, this produces greater security risks as older technology in general has trouble detecting new threats. This will result in possible malware such as viruses and spyware that can lead to violation of HIPAA laws and result in a breach of patient confidentiality $($Wager et al$.,2022).$ Once malware is detected and no further updates on the technology can prevent malware from spreading, this is when an organization needs to upgrade its technology.
