Respond to the following statements/give your opinion. 1. While reading the article "How Not to Behave in 15 Countries" I can say that I did learn a lot form it. I did know each culture has behaviors that they do and do not believe in also they have things that are frown on, but for me this was great reading material for when I do travel. Some behaviors that I did not know were is in France they culture does not teach English they are not big on other languages. However, I am a little familiar with a few of Germany rules and behaviors I lived in Germany for 3 year when I was younger my mother was in the military. I do remember that you should not stare at people and most people seem not to be very friendly, they are very direct and straight to the point. In my culture we don't believe in eating with your elbows on the table and also you have to take your hat when you are in someone house. Each culture have many ways of behaviors it's always great to learn others so you do not become disrespectful to others and mindful of your own. 2.After reading the article I was honestly surprised at how many harmless things could be offensive in these countries. I have never been outside of the U.S. so I have not been able to experience anything like this personally. Though I have always been interested in going to Japan or Korea and have researched them so I have some knowledge if I were to ever go. I knew it was normal to not tip in Japan and if you do tip it could be seen as rude or insulting. I also know it's very common to take off your shoes and put on slippers when entering your house or other buildings. This is mainly due to how much they value cleanliness and hygiene. They also don't do public displays of affection, or PDA, they think of it as inappropriate to do things like a kiss in public. Even without traveling to other parts of the world, I think it is important to take the time beforehand to learn the langue of the place you are going to. It can make it a lot easier to get around during your trip, especially with reading signs. It's also nice to be able to communicate with the locals and hold a conversation.
