RESPOND TO THESE COMMENTS BY EXPRESSING OPINION AND SUGGESTION.

1)This phenomenon is not believable to me as some large uprising, but rather hyperbolic. For one, I feel as though many Americans (including myself) are completely unaware of this "huge" shift. It's no secret that the pandemic beginning in 2020 changed the work atmosphere forever, but I don't think the quit rate rising is a large factor.

Many Americans during this time struggled to get by, often relying on government benefits and being considered essential workers. As our world begins healing, many citizens have had a wakeup call in what they desire for work. We were all exposed to a new environment for finding work: often our own homes. Many decided they wanted a change. This comfortability suited many people, and has stressed the need for more remote jobs. However, a generous portion of Americans cannot afford to quit their jobs, work from home, or even unionize. This article ignores that fact, which makes it a shaky source of knowledge. It seems an article biased towards workers unionizing, but does not stress any impacts that can come from doing so. Rather, it hops back and forth from saying that it's important to unionize, but it's not really possible unless changes in legislation are made.

I don't believe this "quit rate" will show a huge shift in our employer-employee dynamic, at least not long term. The article evens states this. However, if it does cause any shift, it would be a positive one for the working class.

2)The article seems hyperbolic even though the 2020 pandemic brought consequences to businesses and employers, including burnout and mental health issues while they were working through it. I do not think the Great Reshuffle is as bad as the article and the data make it seem. In fact, it also exaggerates how they plan to solve the Great Resignation. Many people have chosen different ways to live and sustain themselves, especially with the growth of remote jobs, which the article does not mention. According to the article, some of the reasons why this uptick occurs because of early retirement, mothers opting to stay home to watch their children as the new covid variant appears, and people opening their businesses.
